'Reiki' is a Japanese word representing Universal Life Force Energy, the energy that is all around us, within us and all living things. It is the force of all creation, the force that animates all living things, and the force that wants to be expressed through you.
Reiki, as a practice, is a holistic method of relaxation, healing, and balancing on all levels (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual); and it can be used safely with adults, children, and animals. Reiki is a valuable tool for overall well-being enhancement, and has been used to reduce pain symptoms, anxiety, fatigue, the side effects of medication, and to enhance the body's natural capacity to heal after injury or surgery.
Reiki helps people become more actively involved in their own health.
Learning Reiki is more of an empowering process than an intellectual one, and this takes time. To embody something doesn't generally happen quickly, and with Reiki it's necessary to give yourself the time and space you need to assimilate what has been initiated during each of the Reiki degrees or levels of training. The growth and healing that's occurring after a training will unfold in a very organic way, which cannot be rushed. The foundation you are developing will inform your practice going forward. Through the cultivation of a more solid connection to the energy, and the roots of this system of practice, you will enhance your experience, commitment, and credibility. When you take the time to really embody the practice of Reiki you are helping to preserve the integrity of this work.
